These are awesome emergency candles and a very handy addition to any outdoors kit. I burned one for about an hour and it didn’t even melt 100% of the top layer of the candle, so the estimated 7 hour burn time for these should be spot on. In that hour, the bottom didn’t get hot, just warm enough to feel really good in the hand on a chilly night. It also added a little warmth and light to a small tent, where it was a very welcome addition. You could even use these things to cook in a pinch, if you needed to. You could also sit the burning candle under stubborn kindling to get it going.
The flame burns hot and smells only of beeswax, so these things are nice and pure. There was no smoke at all while burning the candle, only a bit when it was blown out. The tin screws together nicely and is very secure.
