This mini mortar and pestle is the perfect addition to my travel altar. The inside and bottom of the mortar plus half of the pestle weren’t glossed, and that makes perfect sense for the texture needed to crush herbs and such. However, I am neurodivergent and have sensory issues and I can’t touch or hear things that feel like eggshell or matte; this is why I can’t do terra-cotta pots for any of my plants. So I put a thin layer of glossy mod podge over those matte areas then sprinkled a small amount of crushed Himalayan sea salt inside. After it dried I added like 2-3 more mod podge layers to seal in the textured bits from the salt. It was already perfect before, but now it’s perfect for ME. �thank you! Your work is lovely.

This was a 10th anniversary gift for my daughter and son-in-law, hence the “tin” look. The kids loved it. Ordering was easy and the artist was also easy to work with. Great idea!
